Ticks have become more

This year we have an abnormal spring in Ukraine. Meteorologists say that it lasted only 12 hours. We stepped out of winter right into summer. But the ticks did not have time, it turns out, they woke up too late - in April, but their number increased, and significantly - up to 15%.

They are waiting for us everywhere and in any weather, but more of them just on cool and cloudy days. In hot weather, they are less dangerous. It would be naive to think that picking up an uninvited guest is possible only in the forest, and your favorite city parks, lawns, streets do not pose a threat at all - this is a mistake. Ticks live even in the very center of the city in trees, bushes, and grass, usually not rising above 1-1.5 meters.

By themselves, these are small, innocuous blood-sucking insects, but for one thing - these creatures are carriers of more than 150 different diseases. The most dangerous among them are tick-borne rickettsiosis, or Marseilles fever, tick-borne viral encephalitis and tick-borne boreliosis (Lyme disease). It is this disease with such a fragrant name that is widespread in our latitudes. There is no specific treatment for it, and a reward of 5 million euros has been announced for the development of a vaccine for this disease, but so far no one has received it.

It affects the nervous, cardiovascular systems, joints and the musculoskeletal system and can cause disability and even death.

How to protect yourself

How to protect yourself from ticks?
Contrary to common sense, in all the outings we dress in white (or so). It is easier to notice insects on a light fabric (the tick does not immediately stick - it is looking for a place where the skin is softer and softer). Even fully enclosed clothing is recommended, and be sure to wear a wide-brimmed hat or a hat.

What to do first when a tick bite ?!
After returning from a walk, you should immediately, after undressing, carefully examine yourself and the children (especially the inguinal folds, armpits, navel, nape and the entire scalp) and take a shower as soon as possible. All clothes carefully collected and washed.

And if, God forbid, you find an uninvited guest who has already sucked in - without panic, Take yourself in hand and remember what you can never do:

- handle mite oil

- burn with alcohol, gasoline, etc.

- sharply pull out of the body

- crush the tick

- remove it with a syringe

If it is absolutely scary, we rush to the polyclinic at full speed and surrender ourselves to the doctor

And for those who are not out of fearful, continue …….

They say the easiest way to pull the tick with the new "gadget." To facilitate this procedure, they produce special devices that look like a curved fork with two teeth.

Method !!! We place the parasite between the teeth and slightly loosen it from side to side, scroll counterclockwise by twisting it (in no case squeezing its body). In the same way you can use medical curved tweezers.

It is desirable to keep the parasite alive (only in this form the tick can be attributed to the laboratory for research (Kiev Laboratory Center (formerly urban SES, Estonian str., 3, tel. 422-01-32).
