2. Increased tear evaporation

Occurs for the following reasons:

  • - dysfunction of the meibomian glands;
  • - the inability to completely close the eyes (lagophthalmos);
  • - infrequent blinking. occurs in people working for a long time with gadgets at close range, as well as in people with Parkinson's disease.


External causes


and there are actually a lot of them:

  • - prolonged use of contact lenses;
  • - frequent use of eye drops containing preservatives;
  • - allergic conjunctivitis;
  • - deficiency of vitamin A;
  • - working air conditioners;
  • - hormonal changes in the body;
  • - long-term use of drugs (for pressure control, tranquilizers, antidepressants).
