Vaccination in Europe

Even now, in the summer, new cases of measles, whooping cough, chickenpox in Ukraine are heard, and with the beginning of the school year, the number of diseases will only increase. It is difficult to foresee the situation, but with confidence it can be said - we must prepare now.

Considering our gaps in collective immunity and how Ukraine treats vaccination (there is a perception that vaccines are of poor quality, stitched) or simply panic fear of terrible side effects (heated by the Facebook community). And very many people are afraid, everyone finds excuses and not always unfounded. Family doctors sometimes need incredible efforts to convince their parents, and sometimes they fail. If the child is small, not vaccinated or vaccinated with irregularities of the schedule, and you are very afraid and the arguments of your family doctor are not convincing and it seems there is no way out - make up your mind.
There is always a way out. This is of course an extreme case, but there is an opportunity to go for vaccination in the European Union, for example, in Poland and vaccinate a child there. For money, it will certainly be more expensive, but it will help to keep your nerves and the health of your child for many years.
Let's understand ... According to the preventive vaccination calendar, the maximum load on the child’s immunity occurs in the first year - one and a half lives. This is ideal if the baby is completely healthy. And if not, if they get sick often or if there are more serious contraindications, the schedule is disturbed. And all the problems are growing like a snowball ...

But do not worry - there is a solution .. If you compare the calendar of prophylactic vaccinations in Poland and Ukraine there are few big differences

Vaccination schedule in Ukraine and Poland

At first glance, there are not many significant differences (for example, regarding tuberculosis, hepatitis B, hemophilic infections), but about pertussis (we are on the verge of an epidemic), meningococcal infection should be discussed separately. We especially lack vaccines for viral meningitis (meningococcus). For only a couple of months in the capital, for this reason, three kids died.

Vaccination for the prevention of meningococcal infection in Ukraine is not included in the Calendar of prophylactic vaccination, as mandatory, and refers to the recommended. That is, this vaccine against meningococcal infection is not purchased for the money of the budget. You can buy it yourself at a pharmacy, but judging by the reviews, finding the right vaccine is not at all an easy task. Therefore, in recent years, families with children simply unite for common trips abroad, collecting money and using a visa-free regime with one goal, to protect their children. And even certain expenses do not stop them.

Differences in vaccinations in Ukraine and Poland

And about whooping cough ... Vaccinations against whooping cough (as part of DTP) in Ukraine are last introduced to a child at the age of a year and a half and that's all, older kids have nothing to vaccinate. And in Poland, vaccination against diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough (with an inactivated form of the toxin) is approved for children up to 7 years old, for teenagers after 11 years and for adults from 19 to 64 years old. This is very important, especially in our current situation.

And the second important difference: in Ukraine, the first two doses of the polio vaccine inject the inactivated vaccine (IPV), which does not contain live poliovirus and cannot cause the disease but causes the body to produce antibodies, and all subsequent doses at 6, 18 months and 6, 14 years are administered orally (OPV), which contains live, attenuated polioviruses, which, after vaccination, multiply in the intestine and are released into the environment and theoretically can cause the disease and the child himself and in contact with him individuals. True, such a vaccine can not be administered to everyone, although the immunity after it also includes the local component.

So think for yourself, decide for yourself if the child is small, not vaccinated or vaccinated with schedule violations and you are very afraid - you have an option.

Dear parents, while your children are resting and gaining strength before the new school year, I recommend to thoroughly check your child's vaccination card (this should be in each outpatient card of the child: some from the maternity hospital, and others issued at the clinic). This is when you have at least some vaccinations. And if it is not - contact your family doctor. I mean, you still need to be vaccinated. There is no other way to protect yourself. Do not stay unvaccinated.
Headache and what to do with it
What causes the headache? You can not believe it, but in just 20% of cases of headache, its cause is the head itself. In other 80% - pain in the head area is associated with pathological processes in other organs and systems.
